Change at the top of bailiwick's tourism board
BBCTwo business leaders have been appointed to head up Guernsey's Tourism Management Board (TMB).
Charlie Walker and Clare Crowson will replace Hannah Beacom whose contract ended earlier this month after three years in the role.
Ms Walker is the managing director of the Little Big Hotel Group and a former vice-chair of the board, while Ms Crowson is the senior partnerships manager at Premier Holidays.
They will serve as co-chairs on an interim basis while a review of the board takes place.
Ms Crowson said she was proud of the way the board had united the bailiwick's tourism sector.
"Following a strong 2025 season, we are well positioned to build on this success and continue developing a sustainable, competitive tourism offering for the bailiwick," she said.
Speaking about her appointment, Ms Walker said: "Ensuring that the future strategic aims of the Tourism Management Board are ambitious is my primary focus.
"With the strong support of the Committee for Economic Development, I'm certain that our resilient sector will collaborate greater than ever to achieve those goals."
There are plans for a review of the way the board works to take place this year and Ms Walker and Ms Crowson will be in charge until the end of that process.
Economic Development tourism lead deputy Lee Van Katwyk said having two industry professionals heading up the board would "allow the TMB to be as effective as possible".
"Between Charlie and Clare, I am confident that the TMB is being passed into good hands, and will continue to support the committee effectively," he said.
"I know I speak for the whole committee when I say we look forward to working closely with them."
