This City is Ours set to showcase Liverpool again
BBC/Left Bank Pictures/James StackLiverpool is once again set to take centre stage in the hit BBC crime drama This City is Ours as filming for the much-anticipated second series continues to take place across the city.
Liverpool actor James Nelson-Joyce returns as leading gang member Michael Kavanagh, alongside Hannah Onslow as his partner Diana Williams.
The first series, which attracted an average of 5.8m viewers per episode, was filmed in and around Liverpool, as well as in Spain.
Producer Stephen Butchard said he aimed to capture the vibrancy of his native city, and it looks like the second series will be no exception.
Here we take a look at some of the locations where filming has taken place.
BBC/Left Bank Pictures/James StackThe Old School House
1936 PubcoActors from the series - which chronicles the battle for control over a cocaine-trafficking gang - have been spotted filming at the Old School House on Liverpool's Lark Lane on the edge of Sefton Park.
The new series will pick up from where things were left at the end of series one, a BBC spokesperson has said.
The White Hart
1936 PubcoThis City Is Ours has also filmed scenes at the Dickensian-style The White Hart Pub on Liverpool's Hope Street.
The Vines
1936 PubcoThe Grade II* listed the Vines pub - known as the Big House - on Lime Street is another set location as the gangsters continue their exploits.
Temple Street
Cast members have also reportedly been spotted filming at the Mansion nightclub on Temple Street.
Heswall
The action has apparently also returned to Heswall in Wirral. There have been reports of filming taking place on Pensby Road.
