Plans have been lodged for 80 homes which have been classed by a developer as affordable between Codnor and Heanor.

Wheeldon Brothers Limited has submitted an outline planning application to Amber Valley Borough Council to build 80 homes on land west of Crosshill in Derbyshire.

Planning documents stated the proposed development would consist of one to four bedroom properties.

Plans added the proposals would help address the "substantial" need for affordable housing in the area.

Documents submitted with the proposals stated: "The planning application is made in direct response to the government's drive to significantly boost the supply of new homes."
