Man arrested after five-vehicle collision

A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving following a five-vehicle collision.

Norfolk Police said the collision took place on the A47 at Narborough involving a silver Skoda Octavia, a white BMW 320, a white VW Crafter, a white Mercedes Sprinter and a cream Fiat 500 at 05:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The road was closed while emergency services including fire, ambulance and air ambulance crews attended the scene.

The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 30s, suffered serious injuries. He was arrested after being discharged and was taken into custody for questioning.

A passenger in the Skoda, a man in his 40s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with life threatening injuries.

A third person - the driver of the BMW - was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The force said it would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or had relevant dashcam footage.

The road was reopened at 17:00 later that day.
