A Sussex Police officer has been cleared of attempting to rape a woman in a hotel.

PC Daniel Julian, 46, from Pulborough, in West Sussex, had faced charges of sexual assault, sexual activity without consent and attempted rape.

The officer was acquitted on Friday by a jury at Lewes Crown Court after a five day trial.

The woman had claimed he had attacked her in a hotel in Kent.
