Crowds lined the beach to watch an impressive array of aircraft take flight

An impressive array of aircraft have lit up the sky above a seaside town for its annual show.

The displays marked the 32nd edition of the Clacton Airshow on the north-east Essex coast.

Crowds lined the beach and watched on as a packed schedule of historical aeroplanes soared past throughout Thursday afternoon.

The displays are due to return at 13:00 BST on Friday.
