Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in south-west London.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 00:37 GMT on Sunday to The Broadway, Wimbledon where they found a man with stab wounds.

The victim, named as Luke Brereton, 41, from Mitcham, died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers, the Met added.

Amar Zafar, 35, of Cambridge Grove Road, Kingston has been charged with murder and possession of a knife. He is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Monday.
