A yellow warning for wintry showers and ice will be in place overnight on Monday and until 16:00 GMT Tuesday

Icy and wintry conditions are forecast for the Isle of Man as a yellow weather warning comes into force.

Ronaldsway Met Office has said that small accumulations of snow or hail are possible particularly on high ground from 20:00 GMT until 16:00 on Tuesday.

Forecasters said temperatures would fall close to or slightly below freezing later in the night on higher roads above 500ft (152m), with a possibility of ice also affecting some sheltered areas and lower ground.

Road temperatures on higher ground are expected to remain close to zero on Tuesday.

The Mountain Road was closed over the weekend amid wintry conditions, but opened on Sunday.

However, the Department of Infrastructure urged people to drive "carefully" as temperatures remain low and ice may develop.
