Your chance to be a star at Ipswich Music Day
Ipswich Borough Council Performers are invited to take their chance at playing to crowds of thousands at one of the biggest free one-day music festivals in the UK.
Held at Christchurch Park, the Ipswich Music Day festival features six stages for up-and-coming artists on Sunday 5 July.
Framlingham schoolboy turned global star Ed Sheeran took to the stage at the festival in 2009 and 2010.
Neil MacDonald, the Labour leader of Ipswich Borough Council, said: "Ipswich Music Day is a brilliant celebration of entertainment, culture and local talent."
Mark Whiting, head of vibrant town services at the council, told BBC Radio Suffolk that nothing would "dampen" the festival spirit, despite it having rained at the last two events.
Shannon Eustace/BBCLast year's festival saw applications from more than 220 artists, with 49 of them selected to take to the stage.
Whiting said: "We had 60 applications in the first 24 hours so it just goes to show the draw performing at the event has... it's a great platform for local performers to be able to showcase their talents in Ipswich."
Alongside music, the event boasts fairground rides, activities and food vendors.
Applications to take part will remain open until midnight on Sunday 29 March.
