Litter of kittens abandoned on Christmas Day
BBCA litter of six kittens was found abandoned in Hull on Christmas Day.
Carina Porte, 43, animal centre manager at the RSPCA Hull and East Riding, said the kittens were about five weeks old and "should be with their mum until they are eight weeks old".
RSPCA staff have given the kittens the festive names Nutcracker, Brussels, Pudding, Parsnip, Gravy and Tinsel.
Anyone with information about the kittens, which were found on Melrose Street, off Anlaby Road is asked to contact the RSPCA.
Ms Porte, who has been with the RSPCA for 17 years, said it was lucky the kittens had teeth so were able to eat kitten food.
She said staff were "giving them all our love and attention".
"The mum will still be producing milk, so she's obviously going to be distraught," she added.
Ms Porte said she did not know why the kittens had been abandoned by their owner, but said it could have been "a situation where they can't afford them and they need some help".
The kittens are likely to be offered for adoption in the next few weeks.
