A shopping centre will close at the weekend ahead of a major redevelopment, with retailers moving into its twin centre.

Berkeley Homes, which bought Slough's Queensmere and Observatory centres last summer, plans to "reimagine the heart of the town as a vibrant, mixed-use neighbourhood".

The Queensmere site will shut on Saturday and stores that have already moved or will move into The Observatory include the Post Office and Card Factory.

Berkeley Homes said the centre's closure would be an "important milestone" in the development, plans for which were shared at consultation events in November.
