A 44-year-old man has denied murdering the mother of his two sons.

Carol Georgiou, 42, was found injured inside a house in Holywell Place, Milton Keynes, in the early hours of 2 November and later died in hospital.

Andrew Georgiou pleaded not guilty to her murder at a crown court hearing in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, on Thursday.

Another preliminary hearing is fixed for 12 September and his trial is due to start on 1 December.

Soon after her death, relatives said in a statement that Ms Georgiou "cherished her role as a mother to her sons and brought joy and laughter wherever she went".

Mr Georgiou appeared at Thursday's hearing via a video link from prison where he is on remand.
