Dequain Williams appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Friday accused of murder

A 25-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murder following a stabbing incident at a restaurant.

Dequain Williams is charged with the murder of Jeyanthan Ramachandran in Bushey, Hertfordshire, after a stabbing on Saturday, 29 November at the Vu Lounge in the High Street.

The accused spoke only to confirm his personal details and was not asked to enter a plea during an appearance at St Albans Crown Court.

Judge Jonathan Mann remanded Mr Williams, of Sancroft Close, Dollis Hill in north-west London, in custody and set a trial date for June.

Hertfordshire Police said the victim, who was in his 30s, died earlier this week after being taken to hospital.

It said Mr Williams had initially been charged with attempted murder but that was changed to murder.

The judge said the case would next be considered at a hearing on 18 February.
