Plans for a 100-house estate in Droitwich have been approved

Plans to build 100 new homes in Worcestershire have been approved, Wychavon District Council has confirmed.

The new housing estate will be built in Droitwich, on fields between Tagwell Road and the M5 motorway.

Developer Bromford Housing Association has said all of the homes will be "affordable housing".

Outline permission for the homes was approved in 2020 on appeal but now more detailed plans have been signed off by the district council amid objections from some residents.

One said: "Sadly, despite numerous attempts, it is clear and inevitable that this development will take place no matter what.

"I just hope that the deserved and due consideration will be given to local residents to minimise the disruption to both ourselves and the surrounding natural habitats."

Council planners said the new estate "would provide for a high quality development that would have an acceptable impact on existing residential property and would respect the character and appearance of the surrounding area".
