A yacht aground in Guernsey is set to be removed when conditions allow, officials say.

The Receiver of Wreck, which deals with wreck and salvage, is working with the owner of the yacht and harbours bosses for its removal from Havelet Bay.

Guernsey Ports said it was no longer responsible for the removal and the planned operation had been taken on by the States' Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services.

Members of the public have been reminded by Guernsey Coastguard to not approach the vessel, and that removing any items from it would be an offence.
