The presenter's suitcase, which contained her grandfather's ashes, disappeared on a train journey

Radio DJ Edith Bowman says a suitcase containing her grandfather's ashes that went missing has been found empty.

The 52-year-old said the case disappeared during a train journey from London Paddington to Kemble in Gloucestershire on Friday.

She took to social media to say she was "utterly devastated" at the loss of two "precious" rings - one of which was an anniversary gift from her husband and another with her grandad's ashes in.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said it was investigating a high value theft of a suitcase containing jewellery of a sentimental value, and has released CCTV images.

BTP said a woman boarded the 09:32 GMT service from London Paddington to Kemble and placed her suitcase in the luggage rack.

"A man is seen also boarding the train at Paddington taking the suitcase worth over £4,500 before getting off and moving to another carriage," said a BTP spokesperson.

"Officers have since located the suitcase but the contents were not inside."

Bowman thanked BTP officers who delivered the stolen case to her house.
