Residents in a village are being advised to close their windows and doors due to a large smoke plume.

Suffolk County Council said a large muck heap was on fire at a farm on Bardwell Road in Ixworth.

About 20% of the 250 tonnes of muck was alight, it said, with crews from Ixworth in attendance.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said steady progress was being made to tackle the blaze.
