A man has been charged after a woman was found dead at a property in West Yorkshire, police have said.

Officers were called to Ken Churchill Drive in Horbury, near Wakefield, on Thursday over concerns for a woman's safety. A woman's body was found, who police said they believed to be 37-year-old Carolann Barraclough.

David Barraclough was arrested and has now been charged with her murder.

The 45-year-old, of Ken Churchill Drive, remains in custody and is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Monday, West Yorkshire Police said.

Det Ch Insp Stacey Atkinson said on Thursday: "We recognise this incident will cause concern locally and I can advise residents we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the matter."
