Road closed until March due to 'complex repair'
LDRSA road closure that started in October and was set to reopen this month will run into March 2026.
Bennet Road in Whitley, Berkshire, has been closed at its junction with the A33 since 18 October so Thames Water can conduct repairs to its underground network.
The road was initially set to reopen on 14 December but work looks set to be extended until 15 March 2026 due to the "complex repair", Thames Water said.
"Additional groundworks and specialist engineering are required to ensure the long-term safety and stability of the road before completing the main repairs," a spokesperson said.
Bennet Road is used by Reading Borough Council's vehicle depot, Stratstone Jaguar Land Rover and The Church of Pentecost UK, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
