Foreign aircraft checks in place at Jersey Airport

Jersey Airport authorities have started to carry out random safety checks on foreign aircraft that land there.

The Director of Civil Aviation explained in a report that unannounced checks were now an international requirement for flight safety.

Any foreign aircraft landing at the airport could now be subject to checks.

The director said Jersey has cooperated with Guernsey on the system in order to share expertise and save costs.
