A new fleet of electric buses has been revealed to serve Salisbury.

The fleet consists of 18 double decker and 12 single decker buses with three of the buses to be used on the Stonehenge Tour.

It comes following an investment of more than £15m from Salisbury Reds and Wiltshire Council, alongside funding from the government's Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas 2 scheme.

"It's a significant step forward for Salisbury and a clear statement of our shared commitment to a greener, better-connected city," Wiltshire councillor Martin Smith said.

He added: "These buses will make a genuine difference – improving air quality, reducing noise in the city centre and providing a more comfortable, accessible and reliable service for passengers."

Salisbury Reds managing director Ed Wills said: "Buses are the perfect solution to improving air quality, reducing noise in the city centre and providing a more comfortable, accessible and reliable service for passengers.

"It's a significant step forward for Salisbury and a clear statement of our shared commitment to a greener, better-connected city," he added.
