Weekend ferry sailings at risk due to gales
IOMSPCFerry passengers have been warned of possible disruption to sailings at the weekend due to gale force winds being forecast.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said Saturday's 08:30 sailing of the Manxman between Douglas and Heysham and its 14:15 return were at risk of cancellation.
Fast craft Manannan's sailings between the island and Liverpool at 15:00 and 20:00 on Saturday, as well Sunday's 07:15 and 11:15 crossings, have also been placed in doubt due to the conditions.
Ronaldsway Met Office said gusts of up to 45mph (72km/h) were due to hit the island during the period.
Adverse weather expected on Friday has also led to the morning's Manxman crossing to Heysham being brought forward by 30 minutes to 08:00, with its return pushed back from 13:45 to 14:15.
The government-owned ferry firm said passengers booked to travel on the weekend's at-risk sailings could change their bookings free of charge online or by phone.
