'No change' for school ratings despite shake-up
BBCGuernsey is not following a move in the UK to change how schools and childcare settings are assessed by Ofsted.
Education President Paul Montague said the States signed a new contract with the regulator in June which will see schools in the bailiwick inspected for another four years.
However, he said a change to the inspection system involving the scrapping of grades such as "good" or "requires improvement" would not be followed in the island.
The new system in England, which came into force this week, sees the old rankings replaced with new colour-coded report cards with more detail.
Deputy Montague said: "We have our own relationship with Ofsted, we determine how the inspections are done.
"We are not directly following what the UK have done just yet."
