St Martin's Primary School in Guernsey has been recognised for its "significant improvement" following an Ofsted inspection.

The States said the school had retained its "excellent" rating for personal development and was rated "good" in all other areas.

The report said the school was one where pupils felt safe, welcomed and valued, adding they were curious, hardworking and engaged, and it had "significantly improved" the quality of education since the previous inspection in 2022.

Clare Giles, head teacher of St Martin's Primary School, said: "I am proud that Ofsted recognised the strength of our leadership at every level and the trust we place in one another."

Inspectors said pupils took on a wide range of leadership roles that nurtured responsibility and teamwork in the school.

Giles said: "This report is a real testament to our passionate, dedicated staff, our hard-working, incredible children and the continued support of our parents and carers, and wider school community.

"Knowing that our staff feel listened to and valued, that our pupil voice is central to our ethos, and that parents and carers appreciate the care and support their children receive, means a great deal to us."
