A pedestrian has died after being knocked down by a lorry in north Belfast.

Police received a report of collision involving a female pedestrian and a lorry on Ardoyne Avenue at about 14:30 GMT on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the crash but the woman, aged in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The area, which was closed to traffic for some time, has since re-opened.

Officers have asked witnesses or those with digital footage to contact them.
