Man arrested after homes evacuated in Inverness incident

A 61-year-old man has been arrested following an incident which saw several homes evacuated in the Hilton area of Inverness on Wednesday evening.

Police said Mackay Road was closed between Cauldeen Primary School and Cauldeen Road at about 19:00 after a report of "concern for a person".

A cordon was put in place and some properties were evacuated as a precaution.

The road reopened at about 04:45.
