The event is heading to Telford for the first time

Teams are being sought in Shropshire to design, build, and race soapboxes for a charity event in Telford.

Krazy Races, a touring soapbox derby, will be held in the town for the first time on Sunday 12 July 2026.

The event will see a maximum of 40 teams - which can be created by businesses, community groups and charities - taking part in a knockout-style competition.

Teams and spectators will raise as much money as possible for local causes, with the event's headline charity to be announced early next year.

"Having grown up in Telford and being a lifelong AFC Telford fan, bringing the magic and community spirit of Krazy Races to my hometown is incredibly special," said Danny Scoffin from Krazy Races.

"This event is all about creativity, community, and fun, and we can't wait to see the amazing soapbox designs that the people and businesses of Telford come up with."
