Murder charge as victim of fatal stabbing named

A man has been charged with stabbing another to death in Birmingham.

The victim, identified by West Midlands Police as Kiirpaal Nihian, 29, was found with serious injuries in Swanage Road, Small Heath, on Saturday evening and died at the scene.

Abdou Sillah, 23, of Birmingham, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife.

He is due to appear before magistrates in the city on Boxing Day.

Officers said their investigation was continuing and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
