Two people have been arrested after a teenage boy was stabbed inside a house in Derbyshire.

Police were called at about 20:30 GMT on Tuesday to reports that two people had entered a house in Muskham Avenue, Ilkeston, armed with a knife.

Derbyshire Police said the boy was taken to hospital, where officers said he would make a full recovery. A second man in his 20s suffered a minor slash wound on his hand during the same attack.

Two suspects left the scene in a vehicle that was later seen in Ilkeston and failed to stop. After a pursuit, two people left the car in Pit Lane, Shipley, and ran off before both were detained following tracking by a National Police Air Service plane and police dogs.

A 17-year-old boy and 19-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remain in police custody.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the force.
