Demolition begins on latest home at risk of erosion
John Fairhall/BBCWork to demolish another home on a Suffolk coastline being hit by erosion has begun.
Cheneys, in Thorpeness, is the latest property to be torn down after a recent spate of significant erosion in the area.
Two other homes, The Warren and The Chantry, were demolished at the end of last year, while The Red House was taken down in 2022.
It comes after East Suffolk Council said nine other homes were also now at risk of being lost.
John Fairhall/BBCIt is understood another property will also be demolished in the coming days.
The council said no short-term help was available for affected residents, but it was making those at risk aware and ensuring they were safe.
Mark Packard, in charge of planning and coastal management at the council, previously said experts believed the erosion would "settle down", but already since the start of the year a large part of the coastline has been destroyed.
