Fire crews have attended a house fire in Houghton Regis.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a property on Bedford Road at about 23:00 GMT on Friday.

The road was shut at both ends and people were asked to avoid the area, but it has since reopened.

It advised local residents in the town, which is close to Dunstable, to close their windows and doors.
