A woman and a teenage boy have been hit by a tram at a Metrolink stop in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police said the crash happened at about 19:40 GMT at the Didsbury Village stop.

The woman has been taken to hospital with back injuries, while the boy suffered minor injuries, the force said.

A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesperson said it was supporting emergency services after the crash involving a tram and two pedestrians. It added the East Didsbury line was currently suspended, with services turning at Sale Water Park until further notice and local buses were accepting tickets in the meantime.
