Drug arrests after illegal rave on MoD land
Wiltshire PoliceThree people have been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences after an illegal rave on Ministry of Defence (MoD) land.
About 100 to 150 people attended the unlicensed music event in Great Cheverell at the weekend, Wiltshire Police said.
The force said it was called to the event in Pear Tree Lane at about 00:50 BST on Sunday.
Three people were arrested for drug-related offences, including drug-driving, and a "large amount" of sound equipment and generators were seized, police said.
Police said that because it happened on MoD land, they have put together a plan with the military to address the illegal event and minimise disruption to the community.
Supt James Brain said: "We responded swiftly to the multiple reports we received from members of the public in relation to this incident, however, we acknowledge that there were some members of the public who were inconvenienced by the noise from the location.
"I'd like to reassure residents that we are committed to robustly addressing unlicensed music events across Wiltshire and will take all proportionate action required to deal with individuals involved."
