Residents to have say on vision for new site

Residents have been invited to have their say on designs to regenerate a site in the centre of Wolverhampton.

The aim is to turn a five acre (two hectare) site at St George's into a neighbourhood, with shops, green streets, workspaces and hundreds of homes.

Four teams of architects will pitch their ideas at The Halls on 17 July, with residents invited to attend and provide feedback.

"It’s fascinating to see how each group has interpreted the brief for the neighbourhood in their own unique way," developers Capital & Centric said.

The teams have been working on their plans since spring as part of a competition to design a "creative and aspirational" neighbourhood.

Once a final design is selected and refined, Capital & Centric said it expects to submit planning applications to the council later in the year.
