Pictures of a brand new public splash park have been revealed.

Swindon Borough Council shared several pictures of the new facility at Coate Park on social media.

The £475,00 project is designed to be fully accessible and is set to include a paddling pool, water features and games.

It has also been announced that it will be opened in time for the summer, with work due to start in the coming weeks.

The new design was created after a survey and focus group were carried out last year, and will feature a sloped design allowing wheelchair users to access the paddling pool.

The splash park will also incorporate rumble strips, handrails and interactive elements located outside the main water feature.

A new accessible play park was installed in Coate Park last year

The announcement comes a little more than a year after a new play park also opened at Coate Water.

This new facility was also made fully accessible, after campaigning led by local group Mums on a Mission.
