Firefighters had to remove brickwork from a garage in Leicester after three fox cubs became trapped between two buildings.

Crews were called to the property in Letchworth Road after residents heard a distressed fox on Sunday morning.

After being given permission by the homeowner to remove the wall, crews said all of the cubs were recovered safely, with one given oxygen therapy via a specialist mask for small animals.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the cubs were then left with the RSPCA for treatment.

It added residents did the right thing in requesting specialist assistance rather than attempting to free the animals themselves.
