Jersey Zoo's baby sloth prompts 'go slow' advice

The sloth house at Jersey Zoo has reopened following the birth of a two-toed sloth on 15 January.

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which runs Jersey Zoo, said the enclosure would be open from 14:00 to 16:00 GMT to allow mum Terry and her baby get "used to visitors".

It said only 12 people could visit the sloth house at a time.

The zoo said on social media: "When you visit, please act like a sloth: slow and quiet!"

Durrell said the birth was "an important milestone" for the zoo and its pan- European breeding programme, which paired Terry and Rio, the father, which died nine days later.
