Police said Sashon Richards-Brown died after officers were called to reports of fighting on Hazel Grove in Burntwood

A man whose death sparked a murder investigation has been named as Sashon Richards-Brown.

The 32-year-old, of no fixed address, was found with serious injuries on Tuesday morning after police were called to reports of fighting on Hazel Grove in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

He was pronounced dead shortly after 10:00 BST, Staffordshire Police said, and a dog found with stab wounds was taken to a vet, where it remains in a critical condition.

Two men, aged 32 and 27, and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody, a police spokesperson said.

Officers were continuing to investigate the circumstances around Richards-Brown's death, they added, and the force was supporting his next of kin.
