Nightclub could become student accommodation
JSO HoldingsA nightclub in Lincoln is to close with plans to convert it into student accommodation.
Level on Silver Street could see two extra storeys added to provide space for 79 students.
The existing Access Creative College, which provides training for young adults interested in music, media, games and computing, would be moved from the top to the ground floor.
A planning application by JSO Holdings Ltd said: "In recent times, the number of events has reduced due to demand, with the venue now only holding weekend events."
Local Democracy Reporting ServiceThe company also owns the Home nightclub in the city which it said "saw heavy investment and refurbishment back in the 2000s and has slowly overtaken the site as being more fit for purpose".
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, accommodation would be split across 15 flats, with shared living areas and kitchens.
The planning application promises "high-quality, sustainable student accommodation and a reinvigorated street-level presence that strengthens Lincoln's urban fabric."
No date has been given for the closure of the nightclub, which has previously gone under the names of Ritzy's and Pulse.
The planning application will be considered by City of Lincoln Council at a later date.
