Child rapist jailed as victim's courage praised
Lincolnshire PoliceA man who carried out a string of sexual assaults on a young girl in Lincolnshire has been jailed for 12 years and six months.
George Cordell, 32, from Boston, was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty in December to six sexual offences, including two counts of rape.
In addition, Cordell was given a restraining order, an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, and placed on the sex offenders register.
He must also serve an extended licence period of four years when he is released.
Lincolnshire Police said Cordell's offending took place between August 2024 and September 2025.
Det Con Sabooha Richeux, who led the investigation, said: "We'd like to thank the victim for her bravery throughout the difficult steps of what was a highly emotional and sensitive case.
"Her strength and courage made such an impact to our investigation, which meant that we were able to secure an arrest, a charge and ultimately convict the man responsible for the crime."
