Man bailed over rape of boy attacked second victim
Derbyshire PoliceA man was on bail for raping a boy in a park when he sexually assaulted a second victim months later.
Anthony Lanchester, 20, of Ilkeston, in Derbyshire, raped and sexually assaulted the boy after he followed him through the park in the town in October 2024.
Derbyshire Police said Lanchester was arrested and bailed but he sexually assaulted a second boy in April.
On Monday, he was given a six-and-a-half-year sentence in youth custody after he was found guilty after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
After the hearing, Det Con Natalie Fletcher said: "Lanchester is a predator, who showed no remorse, and reoffended while on bail."
Lanchester was added to the sex offenders register for life and remains subject to a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely.
Restraining orders protect both victims for five years.
Det Con Fletcher added: "Neither boy will ever be able to forget what he did to them, but they can now begin to look to the future.
"I am immensely proud of both victims and would also like to give a nod to the various children who bravely gave evidence as witnesses at trial."
