Trial for juror over school stabbing case collapse
Athena Picture AgencyA juror in a school stabbing case that collapsed will go on trial for failing to disclose a "personal connection" during jury selection.
Christopher Elias, 45, of Waunceirch, Neath Port Talbot, had previously indicated a not guilty plea in charges relating to the first trial of a girl who stabbed two teachers and a pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, Carmarthenshire, in April 2024.
Following the retrial, the 14-year-old-girl was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in a youth detention centre.
At Bristol Crown Court on Friday, Mr Elias was told that a backlog of cases meant he could not stand trial until 11 January 2027 and he was released on unconditional bail.
