Two arrested after 'shot' man attends hospital

Armed police were called to Leeds General Infirmary after a man turned up with suspected gunshot wounds

Two men have been arrested after another man attended hospital with suspected gunshot wounds.

Armed officers were called to Leeds General Infirmary at about 17:30 GMT on Tuesday after the man - described as being in his late 20s - "presented with injuries consistent with a firearm discharge".

His wounds are not thought to be life threatening, West Yorkshire Police said.

A force spokesperson added: "The incident did not occur at the hospital or on its grounds."

A cordon was put in place at the hospital as police carried out checks

They added inquiries "are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what took place and how the man came to be injured".

The location of the shooting is not known.
