A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a crash on the A27.

Sussex Police said the driver of a BMW car sped off after officers tried to stop the vehicle, and then weaved in and out of traffic before colliding with a Range Rover between Falmer and Hollingbury, just before 18:00 GMT on 3 January.

The driver then left the vehicle and ran across the road, said the force.

A 47-year-old man remains in custody.

Det Insp Tony Gander said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or from anyone who has dash cam footage of the incident."
