Drivers have been warned to expect delays on the southbound M1

Part of the M1 in Hertfordshire has been shut after a collision involving three vehicles.

National Highways closed the southbound carriageway between Bricket Wood, near St Albans, and Watford, at about 05:00 GMT.

A car, a van and a motorbike were all involved in the collision.

Drivers have been advised to follow the diversion route in place and expect delays.
