Plans lodged for up to 103 homes on edge of town
GooglePlans have been lodged to build up to 103 homes on the outskirts of Hinckley.
Davidsons Developments has submitted an outline planning application to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council for a housing development on land east of Ashby Road.
According to planning documents the proposed development would contain up to 21 homes classed as affordable.
Documents, submitted by the developer, add the scheme would provide "much needed" homes in the borough in an area with "excellent access" to local services.
Plans state the development would also contain a play area as well as open space. It would also provide a new cycle path on the western side of Ashby Road connecting to the A47 and a signalised crossing on the A447.
A report submitted with the planning application states: "The proposal directly addresses the housing shortfall in the borough and will provide policy compliant affordable housing.
"It also supports sustainable transport enhancements and details measures to enhance on-site biodiversity."
