The Combined Authority is reviewing a number of bus services around Cambridgeshire

The last stop has been scheduled for two bus services - including one that costs more than £98 per passanger to run.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has agreed to withdraw the 13B Nosterfield End to Linton service and the 19A Cambridge to Landbeach service.

Both routes are subsidised by the authority and were proposed for withdrawal following a review.

A report published by the authority said it budgeted to spend £15.5m a year on providing bus journeys.

Last year the authority approved a framework to review the bus services it paid for, to help decide whether any should be withdrawn or altered.

The report said the 13B service provided one journey a day in a single direction towards Linton - and cost £98.47 per passenger to run.

It also highlighted that there was another service that travelled in the same direction, but started about an hour later.

The 19A service was proposed to be withdrawn as the report said its route was duplicated by the 100 service that started last year, and was funded by developer contributions.

A number of other services were also facing the axe but the authority agreed to undertake further engagement on these routes.

They include the 117 and 129 Ely to Upware and Ely to Black Horse Drove services - and the 65 St Neots to Buckden.

Concerns had previously been raised by councillors at the authority's transport committee about cutting the services before the public had been consulted.

When a decision was put to a vote, the majority of the board agreed to withdraw the 13B and the 19A and to undertake further engagement on the 117, 129 and the 65 services.
