The recycling centre closures are scheduled in February

Leicestershire County Council has said two of its recycling and household waste sites are to close for several weeks while repair work is carried out.

The centre in Bottesford will shut for four weeks from 16 February while a cabin office is replaced and work to level the site takes place.

Meanwhile, the recycling centre in Lutterworth will close for five weeks from 23 February for repairs to a concrete yard.

The council has apologised for the inconvenience and urged people to plan ahead and use other sites.

Adam Tilbury, the council's cabinet member for environment and waste, said: "These essential improvements will ensure our household waste and recycling sites remain safe, accessible, and fit for purpose now and into the future.

"I thank residents for their understanding and encourage them to use their nearest alternative site during the works."
