A person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash that closed part of the M5 in Devon, police have said.

A car hit the central reservation in the southbound lanes between junction 28 at Collumpton and junction 29 near Exeter Airport, said Devon and Cornwall Police.

National Highways shut southbound lanes at about 07:30 GMT before the road reopened at about 10:30.

No significant delays were reported in the area, said the agency.
