A teenager has be charged with attempted murder after a machete attack near Solihull, in the West Midlands.

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, were taken to hospital - one with life-changing injuries - while another 15-year-old was punched in the attack on Stratford Road in Shirley on 7 February.

One of the boys has since been discharged, police said, although the other remains in hospital.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, and possession of a bladed article.

Three other boys arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further enquiries into the investigation, West Midlands Police said.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage connected to the attack have been urged to contact the force.
